About the Speaker

Dr. Loi Nguyen is Executive Vice President and General Manager of Marvell’s Optical and Copper Connectivity. Prior to Marvell, Loi was the Co-Founder of Inphi, where he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager of Optical Interconnects. Prior to Inphi, Loi held engineering roles at the Honeywell Physical Sciences Center in Bloomington, Minnesota, among others.

Loi holds seven U.S. patents and is an author of more than 50 scientific publications. He has served on technical committees of the IEEE International Electron Devices Meetings, the IEEE Device Research Conference and the IEEE International Solid-State Devices Meetings. Loi holds B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA. His major contribution to science and technology includes the development of ultra high speed semiconductor devices that enable today broadband optical and millimeter wave communications and networking, automotive radar, and radio astronomy.

Outside of work, Loi is an accomplished wildlife photographer with a passion for wildlife conservation. His images have been featured by leading nature and wildlife organizations such as Nature’s Best, North American Nature Photographer Association (NANPA), National Wildlife Federation, Defenders of Wildlife, National Audubon, among others.
